It’s a matter of life or death…

Proverbs 18:21says that the power of life and death are in the tongue. Even if you don’t believe in the whole God created… Jesus died for you… this is a principle that you can unpack and let it change your life.

Do you speak life on the people around you? Do you speak life over your business? The way you speak matters!

Every winner that I’ve ever been around, is a person that speaks life over others. When you are around them, you feel good because they make you feel good. Somebody that speaks life probably just came to your mind. The winners see things not as they are, but as they could be. They look for the good in others, and they speak of that good. Speaking life encourages others to be a better version of themselves. When you speak life, you’ll find that people are drawn to you like a light in a dark place. That translates into quality friendships, more business transactions, and a happier life.

On the other hand, speaking death, negativity, back biting, or gossiping about others or even any situation can suck the life out of any room or relationship. If you notice people running away from you, it might be because you’re not recognizing the power (or the damage) of the tongue. If you have friends or colleagues that speak death and complain about every little thing, it might be wise to create some boundaries in those relationships. It’s easy to get sucked in to a back biting, complain about life vortex. I suppose misery loves company, but it becomes toxic, and negatively alters the trajectory of your life.

And… if you are a believer, let James 1:26 be the exclamation point on Proverbs 18:21

Those that consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongue deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. James 1:26

Make it a great day!
